The Lily House Bracelet serves as a striking and meaningful symbol of God's work. Its design elements clearly reflect the ministry’s mission, making it an ideal piece to complement an advocate’s daily bracelet collection.
Since 2009, Lily House has been walking the streets of the Dominican Republic sharing the word of God and building relationships with trafficked, exploited and vulnerable women. This ministry provides Christ-centered safe housing for both adult women and their children and vulnerable teenage girls, where they provide counseling, daycare for children, furthering education, job skills training and workforce experience all in a healthy, safe environment.
The Story Behind the Design
15 natural shell colored beads which represent the 15 years that Lily House has been working here in the Dominican Republic. Each of these colorful shell beads represents 1 year and every single bracelet has been created with an organic use of colors, not one is alike! With the bird on the left hand side you will see that the bird is positioned after 5 shell beads which represents year 5 when Lily House opened their first shelter. After the bird you will see 3 more shell beads which represent 3 years later at year 8 when the torch was passed over to Dominican nationals. Here you will find a single piece of Larimar representing the Dominican Republic. Next you will see 2 shell beads which represent 2 years and at year 10 you will find a beautiful lily charm. This charm represents when Lily House opened their café Leche y Miel and their roller-skating rink which has become a beacon of light within Juan Dolio. Following this charm you will find the remaining 5 beads which lead us up to present day where Lily House is celebrating 15 years of ministry. The bird and the lily charms hold great significance not only in this bracelet design but also to the ministry itself. The name Lily House comes from Matthew 6. Matthew 6:25-34 concludes this part of the Sermon on the Mount with Jesus’ teaching about anxiety. Even to the very poor, Jesus says not to worry about food or clothes. God feeds the birds and clothes the lilies beautifully, and His children are far more valuable than birds. God ALWAYS provides. A powerful message for the women and girls being served at Lily House. The remaining beautiful aqua blue beads are a gemstone called Blue Apatite. This is the color of Lily House logo and a color that represents the powerful vision and mission of this beautiful ministry.
10% of every sale will be donated back to Lily House to support and further their mission to liberate victims of human trafficking and sexual exploitation around the world.
