Erica's Story of Hope “I started to learn how to make jewelry when I was 13 years old, when an outreach team came to do a jewelry workshop. I became an artisan when I turned 18 and have been working with this group for 5 years. I was one of the first survivors to live in our safe house.   My life has changed so much. I feel happy to be able to create jewelry for a company like Trades of Hope. It makes me very proud, and I love when I see people wearing the jewelry that we made and knowing what impact it has on our work to help more girls who are in situations like I was many years ago. My dream for the future is to finish my university degree and then I want to pursue further studies in fashion design, which I love.” Seema’s Story of Hope “I am happy that I am working with this artisan community. My life has certainly improved while spending my last 14 years here. It has allowed me to give a better education to my children. They want to study further and work. I want to see their dreams fulfilled. I am also happy that I was able to afford a small house of our own. Though it is small, we don’t have to pay the rent. I hope that I can build one more room in the future. Here I can also save some money in a self-help group. Also, we get support for our health. I am thankful to our partners, Trades of Hope, for providing us with valuable work. It has a positive impact on my life. It is important that we continue to get work to have a better and secure life. I am happy that I am a part of this artisan community!” Sarita's Story "I have worked in this artisan community for 3 years. My husband is a trained silversmith. With this community, I am able to work from home stringing jewelry and doing more intricate beadwork.  I have two sons studying in an English medium school. It is important for me to have a job because I can contribute to our income to make ends meet. My hope for the future is to see my work being appreciated and receive more orders."
