Meet the Artisan
Roodlet's Story of Hope Roodlet has worked in this Artisan Community since he was 19 years old. Now in his mid-thirties, he works to support his wife, young child, and baby. A couple months ago, their home was overtaken by the gangs in Haiti and harmed his wife and baby. Roodlet, determined to find a solution for his family, reached out to Shelley. Through our partnership Roodlet is able to work creating steel ornaments and provide for his family. Amid extreme poverty, political unrest, and constant trials, our Artisan partners in Haiti are creating beauty from discarded materials like upcycled steel oil drums. Every purchase of this Cycles of Hope Ornament helps support Roodlet and his community of metal Artisans in Haiti.

Haiti endured one of this century's worst natural disasters when a major earthquake devastated this nation that’s home to almost 500,000 orphans. The majority of Haiti’s orphans have not been orphaned by parental deaths or natural disasters, but by parents who gave them up simply because they could not feed them. This Artisan community is helping with Haiti’s orphan crisis by providing parents with local business opportunities as Artisans. Through fashion as a force for good, parents in areas of extreme poverty in Haiti can earn sustainable income that empowers them to keep and provide for their children. Purchase this ornament and empower an Artisan in Haiti!
