Each Rosemary Kimono creates dignified jobs for women in Guatemala and is naturally dyed with local rosemary and woven by hand in the nearby village. From the sustainable collection of the rosemary used to create the green color in the Rosemary Kimono, to boiling and setting the color in the thread of the kimonos, the process takes Guatemalan Artisans several days to complete one kimono. This process is similar to how the Artisans’ Mayan ancestors created clothing hundreds of years ago, truly creating and preserving a work of art.

Every product has variations as a part of the Artisan-made charm!

Meet the Artisan

Juana Maria’s Story of Hope    "Weaving was always a part of my family, my mom was a wonderful weaver and my dream from a young child was to sell my own creations. My favorite part is creating inks, cause nature is unpredictable and at the same time marvelous. In my community, we are all artisans, my group of artisans is always helping and teaching other artisans to develop their skills and give them the opportunity to work with us to have a better income and a better life. My business started to grow and all the artisans, mainly women, noticed this in their income.     Trades of Hope has opened a door to the international trade of our products and we are so grateful for that. Every new customer that we get and every new order that they make take us closer to achieving our dreams."
