Raquel's Story of Hope
I learned my Artisan skills from my mother. I've always liked working with my hands and have been curious since I was small. I like creating. My relatives and neighbors are part of my Artisan community, and we're happy to work with Trades of Hope! My favorite part of my workday is when we gather to embroider in my house, we sit around chatting and having coffee or hot chocolate while we embroider. My favorite memories are all the happy moments and laughs that I've shared with my relatives and neighbors while embroidering. My life is better since I became an Artisan, because now I make enough money to cover my expenses and be independent. Since our expenses are covered, my children can focus on studying instead of having to work. I don't worry about money anymore. I dream of buying my own house, but mainly to see my children obtain a better education than the one I had. This job is helping me to achieve that dream!
