Pooja's Story of Hope Growing up in extreme poverty in India, Pooja's family often wondered if they'd be able to eat another meal. In spite of this, Pooja's parents sacrificed so Pooja, her two brothers, and her sister could get an education. To help her family - and to express her gratitude for her parents' sacrifices - Pooja started working in a textile factory as soon as she completed 12th standard, but she was not happy there. Then a neighbor taught Pooja how to make jewelry. Soon, Pooja became an apprentice in this fair-trade workshop. Now she specializes in creating handmade jewelry and loves her work! Pooja is able to help her family financially and focus on getting better at her craft while pursuing her dream of becoming an independent woman!
