Erica’s Story of Hope "I started to learn how to make jewelry when I was 13 years old through a community jewelry class. Since I turned 18 four years ago, I have worked as an artisan. I was a part of the first group of girls to form our artisan community. My life has changed so much. I feel happy to be able to create jewelry for a company like Trades of Hope. It makes me very proud, and I love when I see people wearing the jewelry we have made and knowing what impact it has on our work here to help more girls who are in situations like I was many years ago. When we get new orders, I oversee making sure we have everything we need to complete the order. I also love when we go into the communities and do our workshops where we teach girls who are being trafficked or at risk about jewelry making. We also get to share our testimony and talk about difficult subjects which most girls are ashamed to talk about. Life is a bit difficult with so much going on in the world. This is helping me to continue helping more girls who have experienced very difficult situations in their lives by providing them with shelter, protection, love, and education. My dream for the future is to finish my university degree and then I want to pursue further studies in fashion design, which I love!”
